African American Genealogy and genealogical study of other Ethnic Studies by Dr. James M. Rose, alias Dr. Roots.
James M. Rose, Ph.D. is the author of a number of books on African American genealogy.
He received his doctorate in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a concentration in
African American genealogy. He served as a research consultant with Alex Haley on the Kinte Library Project, a forerunner of Haley’s Roots. In the 1970’s, Rose
co- founded the Ethnic Genealogy Research Center at Queens College (CUNY).
