Event sponsored by the Black Belt African American Genealogical and Historical Society. Mel Collier delivered an excellent presentation on Family Reunion Planning. Before Mel spoke, BBAAGHS President, B.J. Smothers, put on her other hat as AfriGeneas Site Administrator and presented Mel the award for 2006 AfriGeneas Volunteer of the Year. Of course, he closed out his talk by inviting folks to visit the AfriGeneas Family Reunion Forum!

GenFest 2005, June 11, 2005, Muncie, IN, was an effort by the Muncie Library & Historical Society to make the AA community aware of, and assist them in learning how to go about researching their family genealogies & history.

Art Thomas exhibited information regarding the African American Genealogical Group of the Miami Valley, as well as his own personal research. John Logan's exhibits were of his personal research as well as a Powerpoint presentation on the 'how to's' of genealogical research.

A great time was had by all .... Anita & Ann spent the day shopping while Larry, Art, John & Irita enjoyed the day at the GenFest!
