ULLIN
Location of Bell Saw Mill, the town was laid out and platted in 1858. It was incorporated in 1888. Named after Postmaster Ulen. It must be noted that the name was misspelled at some point during the founding, that is why it became Ullin. Phone lines were built in 1903 by Dr. J.B. Mathis and the Holcomb brothers. Electricity came to the village in 1915. The electric service was available to subscribers until 11 p.m.
Lionel "Doc" Kessler operated the theatre in Ullin. He also carried the movie projector to nearby towns so their residents could enjoy the then silent movies, also.
