John and Cora Smathers Lenoir were the parents of 14 children. Mama Cora's parents were Henry and Dorcas Smathers, who had been enslaved by Levi Smathers. Aunt Hattie Lenoir Smith was the eldest child and Rev. William H (Cutee) Lenoir was the youngest child of the Lenoir Clan.
