Aunt Rose Taylor Barnes was born August 18, 1888 in Wilson County, N.C. to Jordan Taylor and Adeline Taylor. She was Grandma Katherine Adams's aunt, her father's sister. She raised Grandma Katherine after her mother, Mattie Taylor, died. On April 12, 1907, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she married James M. Barnes, who was born in North Carolina on March 14, 1887. He died Feb. 26, 1963, in Humnoke, Lonoke County, Arkansas. Aunt Rose died in 1988.
